My Rescue Family
Popsicle was my first cat. He was
a kitten I got from free at a flea
market. He was only four weeks
old and was in a small crate with
a plate of bread and milk. I knew
he was too young to have been
taken away from his mother, so I
had to take him home. Now he
has the demeanor of a faithful
dog, and is quite a character!
And yes, he's sucking his
thumb... errr... I mean foot!
Auralue
I found Auralue in the back yard
of my apartment in Fort Dodge.
I found her 3 days before she
gave birth to two kitten!!!
She wasn't super friendly when I
first found her but now that she's
been a part of the family for
almost 6 years she thinks she
runs the place!!!
Chipwich
Chipwich adopted me at a shelter
with a high euthanasia rate.  He
reached out and grabbed my
pant leg as I walked by.  He had
the tiniest little meow, and I
couldn't leave him there!!!  He's
been a part of the family for 5
years now.  He is my enforcer
who used to keep all of my
rescue kittens in line (before
he'd snuggle up with them!!)
Coleridge
I adopted Coleridge as a kitten
in 2003.  He was very antisocial,
and he never really got over it.
He will accept attention from me
but not from anyone else.  Most
people don't even know he's
there because he hides.  But he
is a lover when he wants to be!!!!
Ginny
I got Ginny in November of
2006.  She is a Selkirk Rex and
is a retired Show Kitty.  She was
pretty skiddish when we first
brought her home, but now she is
a professional lounger and
LOVES to sleep pretty much
anywhere... especially on
anything my husband has just set
down on the counter!!!
Max
I got Max in March of 2006 from
a small town animal control in
Southern Missouri.  He is a
purebred Munchkin who was
found wandering the streets.  He
had a home neuter And a home
declaw, but he doesn't seem to
have suffered any ill effects of it.
 He enjoys spending time with
poeple and his best friend Poe.
Poe
Poe came from the same breeder
I got Ginny from.  He was a 6
month old kitten in September of
2006, and because of his straight
haired coat on black and white
coloring, she was having trouble
finding a home for him.  She
gave him to me with Vino,
knowing he would have a good
home with us!!!  He is a complete
lover, and has earned the
nickname "Poe-go" because he
is ALWAYS in your face!!
Vino
Vino was born to be a show cat, but she
didn't quite grow up to the breed
standards and was retired.  I met her
when she was a kitten, but was unable to
get her until she was a year and a half.
She is a beautiful Bi-colored curly haired
Selkirk Rex.  She is affectionately called
"the funny looking one" because she has
a perpetually grumpy look on her face!!!
She has inherited her personality from
her mother, Ginny, and she LOVES to
lounge!!
